An ode to FALL:
Frolic in the leaves
Apples; pie, sauce, crunchy, crumble, caramel, cider
Long gone air conditioners
Freakishly creative costumes on Halloween
Always candles burning
Lots of pumpkin, pumpkin, pumpkin everything
Loving family time
Layering clothes, scarfs, sweaters
Longing for snow.
I LOVE FALL. FALL EVERYTHING. I CAN’T WAIT FOR SNOW.
The end. ❤ ❤ ❤
Halloween is the greatest. I grew up in the Halloween capital of the world. No, not crazy NYC. Halloween in NYC is just legit crazy and weird people being accepted and joined by less crazy and weird people. It’s bizarre. Halloween in Salem, however, is a celebration of awesomeness. The leaves change colors, there is a brisk chill in the air, the sun is still strong. Salem is the cutest little city and it’s adorable (& horrifically annoying) that 100 thousand people flock to Salem on Halloween alone, never mind the other 30 days of the month. The normal 15 minute drive from one of the city to the other will take you a solid hour during October. Why you ask? SALEM WITCH trials. Downtown streets are closed to cars and it’s foot traffic only. Hundreds of cops are ‘imported’ for the day, there’s live music in the streets, fireworks, a carnival, and copious amounts of alcohol. And it’s awesome because it’s a small little city. NYC is just TOO BIG. And crazy. And dumb. Sorrynotsorry.
ANYWAY. I haven’t been home to Salem for Halloween in too many years. It’s sad. Real life always gets in the way. But this year was still fun! My roommates and I dressed up as animals, peacock, sheep, panda, and I was a pig (with bacon abs. Bacon.Abs).
Now go make some Paleo, healthy, FALL FOOD!
